PRIVACY

QR images and text

QR reading and generation run in your browser. The tool does not upload your images, send QR contents to a server, or place those contents in the page URL. Generated downloads are created on your device.

Accounts and local storage

QR Tools has no accounts, advertising or history of your QR contents. Your browser may retain downloaded files and cached website files. A local preference remembers whether you have turned off usage analytics. A temporary session marker excludes test-mode visits in the same tab.

Usage analytics

When enabled on this official website, Umami receives this site’s hostname to distinguish it from other tools sharing the same analytics website, and counts page visits and fixed actions such as successful reading, generation, copying and download attempts. QR images, QR text, filenames, input sizes, query strings and URL fragments are not included. Referrers are limited to the referring domain. Local development, staging and test-mode visits are excluded.

Usage measurement

Anonymous usage measurement is not active for this browser. QR images, encoded text and decoded content are never included.

Website hosting

The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Loading a page sends ordinary web requests, including your IP address and the requested page path, to the hosting provider. This is separate from QR processing, which remains local.

Links inside a QR code

Reading a QR code does not open its destination. If you choose Open link, your browser visits that website, which has its own privacy practices. A decoded link is not a safety guarantee.

Reporting a problem

If you report a problem, use a public test example and avoid sharing passwords, personal QR codes or other sensitive content.
